About NIUJU
What NIUJU is
NIUJU is an AI photography studio. You upload up to four photos of yourself, pick a style and get studio-style photos for LinkedIn, dating apps, social media, travel and more. You pay once for credits. There is no subscription.
Why NIUJU exists
It started with LinkedIn. A good business portrait usually means booking a photographer, and that costs more than many people want to spend on a profile picture. We saw that the same problem exists everywhere else. A great photo for your dating profile or your social feed often needs the right outfit, the right place and the right moment. Not everyone can travel to Japan, the mountains or the beach for a new picture. And often the person holding the camera does not know how to direct a good pose.
So we built NIUJU: you choose the style, the outfit and the camera angle, and NIUJU creates photos made from your own photos, so the result is based on how you look. Our camera angle and outfit options help with the part a friend behind the camera often gets wrong.
To do that, we work with photos of your face. In Germany, data protection is taken seriously, and we take it seriously too. NIUJU is built for people who expect a service to handle their photos carefully, from upload to deletion.
Who is behind it
NIUJU is made by XIVU, a company based in Fürth, Germany. XIVU was founded and is led by Chan Vu Luu. Chan Vu spent seven years in information security. As a consultant he audited the security of large companies in automotive, banking, financial IT services, enterprise software and the public sector. As Deputy Information Security Officer he was the one being audited. He has worked in IT since 2011.
How we treat your photos
NIUJU is made by XIVU, a company based in Fürth, Germany. Your account and your photos are stored on EU servers in Ireland. To create your images, your photos travel over an encrypted connection to our contracted AI provider, which is bound by a data processing agreement and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. The provider runs its image model on a global network, so this step can happen outside the EU, mainly in the US. The provider does not use your photos to train its models and does not keep them after your images are made. We delete your uploaded photos automatically 7 days after upload. Want them gone sooner? Delete your photos in your account settings and your images in your Collection in the studio, at any time.
Deleted data can remain in the daily encrypted backups of our database and storage provider for up to 7 more days, then it is purged. Details: privacy policy · service providers
Security is part of how we build NIUJU. Larger changes that touch personal data, accounts or payments go through a documented security review before they go live.
What we do not claim
XIVU is not ISO 27001 certified and holds no GDPR certification. Chan Vu's qualifications are personal, for example the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Lead Auditor course certificate (TÜV NORD, CQI/IRCA-certified course).
